Sabodala deposit, Kossanto, Tambacounda Region, Senegal

A gold mine owned by Société Minière de Sabodala (BRGM & govt. owned). Mine is exploiting the Sabodala deposit. Estimated to start operations in 1987 with a 14 year life. Mining postponed due to ownership disputes. Located in the Sabodala greenstone belt. Reserves 13 tons at an average gold grade of 5 grams/ton.

Located near Kossanto, about 100 km from Kedougou.
