The Mn ore, typically discontinuous and strata-bound, is hosted into pods of red-brown "limonitic" limestone, resulting from the infill of paleo-karsts. The ore bearing horizon is related to an important sub-aerial erosional surface of Early-Carnian (Late Triassic) age. This ore-body is pene-contemporaneous to the Pb-Zn-F-Ba deposits existing along the same Early Carnian unconformity, but it is related to paleohigh settings where prolonged sub-aerial exposure favored the development of Fe & Mn enriched paleo-soils.

The site is located at 1220 meters altitude, and can be reached by road. After parking you car, there is a path going slightly uphill (about 20 minutes walk).

2019\01\29: revised coordinates through satellite imagery, after on site visit.
