A series of fumaroles that located 40 km South of San Felipe via the coast road and then 7 km due West of Playa Hermosa. The series of "mines" are located in a zone that is about 1 km NE-SW long by 0.5 km NW-SE wide. The course for the Baja 1000 cross country race (Ensenada to La Paz) goes through the mining area.
The area has been known by several names. John Whitmire mined it as the Mina Veronica in the early 1980s(?).
