Garlidna Mine together with Wheal Ruby and a small outlier known as Polangrain situated to the south east were worked as Garlidna United in 1865. Working ceased two years later, said due to the inability of the shareholders to pay their "calls".
Further work was done on a new lode at Garlidna in the years 1912-16, but with little success.
