A presently inactive gold mine, owned by Mineração Morro Velha Ltda. The deposit is hosted in mafic volcanic and subordinate ultramafic rocks, and intercalated carbonaceous schists and banded iron formation (BIF). The disseminated and replacement-style mineralization with associated gold-bearing quartz-carbonate-sulfide-(albite) veins is controlled by a ductile shear zone.
