Amedee Hot Springs (Amedee Springs), Wendel, Lassen Co., California, USA
An Hg occurrence located at the springs on the southern tip of the county.
Mineralization is being precipitated from spring vents. Thermal waters rise up through the alluvium of Honey Lake basin, depositing cinnabar layers up to 2 mm thick around vent orifices. Black metacinnabar overlies the layers of cinnabar in discharge pools and channels.
