South margin of the North China craton along the Qinling - Dabie Shan orogenic belt. The suture is marked by the Xinyang - Mozitan fault (also known as Maoji - Hefei fault). In this area, volcanic diatremes, consisting of ultramafic to mafic breccias and minor felsic rocks, intrude supracrustal rocks of the proterozoic Maoji group.
