An open cast working of pits and trenches and short tunnels in the local sand stone of the Serra do Cabral (mountains/hills) where many quartz crystals were mined that had fine phantoms of chlorite minerals.

We worked the mine for several years for phantom quartz crystals, most of which were ovepolished. Fine examples of these are pictured hereon mindat. [Rock Currier 2010]
