The Chocolate Mountains are located in Imperial County and Riverside County in the Colorado Desert. The mountains stretch more than 80 miles (130 km) in a NW to SE direction, SE from the Orocopia Mountains to the Colorado River Valley, and are located E of the Salton Sea and S and W of the Chuckwalla Mountains and the Colorado River. Not related to the Chocolate Mountains some 30 miles E in Arizona. Mount Barrow is the high point of the range and reaches an elevation of 2,475 feet (754 m).
