Historic mining area about 500 m NE of the Duisburger Hütte at an altitude of 2640-2700 m.
The Strabaleben workings are mentioned in the old literature for their being very rich in gold. The vein, 20-25 cm in width, consists of a clayey, bluish substance ("Goldlasur"), reported to be immensely rich in native gold. According to Rochata (1878) the veins contain up to 5 kg/t of native gold.
