Ampangabé pegmatite, Faratsiho District, Vakinankaratra Region (Betafo - Antsirabé region), Antananarivo Province, Madagascar

(Ampangabe, Distrikan' i Faratsiho, Faritra Vakinankaratra, Faritany Antananarivo, Madagasikara)

A pegmatite situated in the Sahasarotra Valley 17 km southwest of the small town Faratsiho in the Vakinankaratra region in the highland of Madagscar. It is located at the northern border of the Vavavato granite massif.
The a now discredited species "ampangabéite"(= Samarskite-(Y), was first described from this locality (Lacroix 1912)
