Sunset Quartzite Quarry, East Glastonbury, Glastonbury, Hartford Co., Connecticut, USA
Quarry in the Silurian Clough Quartzite.
In the 1980's Fred Schuster worked in the quarry when it was active. He was able to collect from an exposed vein of pegmatite in the eastern wall of the quarry. There seemed to be no feldspar, but grayish quartz with muscovite and much white clay (kaolinite?) probably from the feldspar decomposition. Ixiolite was found in crystals.
