Mining in this area started in 1545 when the tin deposit at Mückenberg hill was discovered.

The Zlatý Kopec skarn deposit is a lens-shaped body in chloritic-sericitic phyllites complex. Ore minerals are cassiterite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and magnetite.
The name Zlatý Kopec means "Gold Hill".
