According to Januzzi (1976) this is a "new kyanite locality in Roxbury" distinct from the "Judd's Bridge" locality (
http://www.mindat.org/loc-23069.html), which he correctly places in Washington. He states: "Kyanite occurs in extremely large crystals associated with sapphire, staurolite, and rutile at a little known locality in Roxbury. Although this locality has never been worked kyanite is found in great abundance over several acres of land."
In Januzzi (1994), he mentions a ambiguous locality "Vicinity Southbury - Roxbury town line, near Roxbury Falls, Conn." with the caption for Figure 8 Rutile stating:
"Microscopic subhedral to anhedral [rutile] crystals occurring as inclusions in kyanite (exceptionally long individuals for this area). Tiny dark blue sapphires are also found as inclusions in the same species.
It has been observed that the rutile inclusions in the kyanite of this locality are oriented, in general, having their long directions parallel to the long direction of the kyanite crystals and the sapphires oriented with their lengths cutting across the narrowest width of the kyanite. Inclusions are basically micro in nature."
Whether this is the same locality as that mentioned in Januzzi (1976) is uncertain, thought the mineralogy seems similar.
The coordinates given on this page are simply default for the center of the town of Roxbury and are not for the locality, which Januzzi does not give an exact location for.
