Francois Lietard collected material from this mine in the mid-1970s, finding nice blue baryte. A 2012 trip to the region by Moroccoan expert Tomasz Spirifer confirmed baryte was again being dug there; specimens showed up at the 2012 St. Marie-aux-Mines show.

Baryte from here is often wrongly labeled "Sidi Lahcen".

(NB: The well known Nador bladed hematite crystals are often misattributed to this locality but in reality come from a different quarry close to the community of Nador, on the road to Melilla.)
