Outcrop of carbonaceous shales, from Silurian age, at the bottom of the ravine, in proximity of the Bubal reservoir. Most of these coal shales have been metamorphosed to graphite.
In the Devonian shales and limestones of the road up to Hoz de Jaca, close to the "San Lorenzo Ravine", appear sporadically aragonite as white fibrous veinlets.
