Rundemyr, Øvre Eiker, Buskerud, Norway

Rundemyr, Øvre Eiker Kommune (Eger), Buskerud fylke, Norge

A small aegirine-bearing ekerite pegmatite genetically associated with the ekerite (a peralkaline riebeckitic arfvedsonite granite) of the Oslo region. The pegmatite dike is hosted in contactmetamorphic sediments of the Vikformation (silur). Type locality for aegirine, known since around 1780.
Old specimens often labelled as coming from "Eger".

Note:

The locality has in some recent literature erroneously been refered to as belonging to the Nedre Eiker Municipality. The locality is, however, located close to the border between the municipalities of Øvre Eiker and Nedre Eiker, but well situated inside the Øvre Eiker Municipality.
