(Tyssedalsfjella)
Tysse is a popular, but somewhat unprecise designation of an larger area along the Tyssevassdraga (Tysse waterways) and the mountains Tyssedalsfjella on the western edge of the plateau Hardangervidda in the municipality (kommune) of Odda.
Quarz and anatase specimens has been found in alpine clefts in this part of Hardangervidda.
In the 1970s anatase and quartz specimens from this large area was labelled "Tysse". Wilson (1976) f.ex. refers to a find of anatase from Tysse, Hardangervidda, Norway. The specimens pictured in Wilson (1976) looks very similar to those from the Matskorhæ locality. The label "Tysse" was probably given by collectors to keep this and other localities in this area and nearby a secret.
