Bärenbad Mine (Bärnbad Mine), Scharnbachgraben, Hollersbach valley, Hohe Tauern Mts, Salzburg, Austria

(Bergbau Bärenbad (Bergbau Bärnbad), Scharnbachgraben, Hollersbachtal, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Österreich)

Small ancient mining district, working a sulphide-rich quartz body embedded in chloritized micaschists. These rocks belong to the Habach formation, which also hosts the scheelite deposit in the Felben valley. Main ores were galena and chalcopyrite, carrying up to 18 g/t of gold, 360 g/t of silver and 0.05 g/kg of both selenium and tellurium.
Several adits and outcrops are mentioned in the old literature.
Located on the northern slopes of the lower Scharnbachgraben, a small western branch of the Hollersbach valley.
