VMS type deposit, located about 300 km NW of Teheran, and 120 km W of Zenjan. The deposit is worked from an open pit (the largest one in Iran). One of the major zinc producers in Iran. The main ore is smithsonite.

The fine-grained sulfide ore is massive, replacive and often brecciated.
