obchvat Příbora

During the construction of the by-pass road of the town of Příbor, several bodies of igneous rocks of the teschenite association (altered picrites and teschenites) were uncovered. According to assemblages of dinoflagellates with Cerbia tabulata, Odontochitina operculata, Oligosphaeridium perforatum, and Muderongia staurota, the pelites enclosing volcanic bodies belong to the Hradiště Formation of Silesian Unit of the Outer Western Carpathians, specifically to the Barremian. In the northernmost body of picrite and its sedimentary cover, calcite and quartz vein mineralization with macroscopic strontianite was discovered. This Ca-rich strontianite is very probably not a product of picrite alteration but rather belongs to post-volcanic (and post-tectonic) hydrothermal mineralization (Jirásek et al. 2013).
