Mineral Trade Notes 36(2), page 26 (1953):
"The Enterprise tin field is 10 to 25 miles east-northeast of Salisbury. The tin-bearing greissenized pegmatite dikes consist chiefly of lepidolite, quartz, and feldspar with one or more of the following minerals in small quantities, fluorspar, garnet, topaz, and tin. The dikes are scattered and not very numerous. Two of the important ones are the Patronage and Pope claims, which contain tin and tantalite. The Pope contains lepidolite, beryl, and topaz and the Patronage spodumene. The Patronage produced 1.81 tons of tin concentrates from 1943 to 1949. Conditions are very similar to those of the Bikita field, the dominant country rock being epidiorite with layers of banded iron. The Pope ore body, however, lies mainly in granite, near the western edge of a large mass enveloped by the epidiorites. Some detrital tin has been extracted from the Meadows claims but no large output can be expected from this source. Most of the tin production has been from the Jack claims near Domboshawa native school, some 15 miles north of Salisbury. From 1928 to 1943, 17.71 tons of concentrates were recovered from alluvial deposits near the edge of the Salisbury gold belt. The Ceander claims have produced 3.66 tons."
Barton (1962):
"Conditions similar to those in Bikita are found in the Enterprise tin field east of Salisbury. The tantalite occurs with tin in both pegmatites and placers in the Enterprise-Victoria area."
