Mina da Serra da Abelheira (e Preguiça 6), Sobral da Adiça, Moura, Distrito de Beja, Portugal

Fe mine.

Mining concession no. 1128, registered on 28-04-1922.

The deposit of Serra da Abelheira, which has a length of almost 150 m in the medium direction N 50º W, and an average width inferior to 0,5 m, has very small interest, notwithstanding the small amount of ore it contains being of excellent quality.
This is essentially composed of hematite and reaches 50% and 62% of iron, in two samples that have been analyzed.
The government department "Serviço de Fomento Mineiro" opened 12 trenches and made also geologic surveys and small test of magnetic prospection.
(In Albertino Adélio Rocha Gomes, João José de Oliveira Barros e Carlos de Araújo: Minas de Ferro da Preguiça No. 6 e Serra da Abelheira; Estudos Notas e Trabalhos do Serviço de Fomento Mineiro Vol. XIII - Fascs. 1-2; 1958).

---

(in LNEG)].
