The Welcome mine is one of two distinct copper mines that were together owned by Great Boulder Holdings. The mines included the Welcome mine, which occurs at the top of a ridge next to the Arkaroola-Paralana road and 5km east of Arkaroola Village, while 1km to the east-south-east is the Great Boulder mine.

The Welcome mine has two large costeans opening up the lode, the longer one being 70 metres. The ore was found inside a brown flaggy siliceous shale and occurred as crystalline sprays and crack fillings of malachite and atacamite.
