History:

Exploration of the Jodelo appears to have started around 1922. A shaft, 25 ft deep, was sunk at some point in time.
1936: Porcupine Triumph Gold Mines Ltd. A 2-compartment inclined (-78 degrees) shaft sunk to a depth of 100 feet.
1938-1944: Jodelo Gold Mines Ltd incorporated in May and acquired Porcupine Triumph property. Shaft was dewatered, and sunk an additional 15 ft. A level was cut at 100 ft. and drifting was completed to the east and west totaling 80 ft. 400 tons of ore was hoisted. Shaft was deepened in 1940 to a depth 350 ft. with levels established at 250 and 350 ft., 272 ft of additional drifting was completed on the 100 ft level.
1944-1946: property held by Minrock Mines Ltd.
1946-1965: Shaftore Porcupine Mines Ltd.

Geology:

The shaft has been sunk on a shear zone mainly situated on the contact between Keewatin diorites and porphyry striking East to West. Development on the 100 ft level shows that a distinct fault plane lies in the center of the shear zone, and for the most part represents the contact between the Keewatin and porphyry. Irregular masses and irregular veinlets of quartz occur throughout the shear zone and for a considerable distance along the fault plane a quartz vein of variable width is located. In places much carbonatization has occurred and at times showing considerable green carbonate locally called Mariposite. The zone is made up of sheared and carbonatized porphyry, greenstone, chloritic schist, quartz diorite and quartz. Both the quartz and the sheared material along the fault are mineralized with pyrite and minor amounts of chalcopyrite and galena.
