The Machego prospect is 27 kilometres north-west of Jamieson, and 500 metres north of the Palytjikuta-Jameson Road. At the surface level, little distinguishes it from the surrounding desert.
Drilling has identified significant massive to disseminated sulphide mineralisation containing up to 0.62 wt% Cu, 0.47 wt % Ni, and 1 PPM Pt and Pd.
The sulphide mineralisation is hosted by gabbronorite rocks, below a magnetite layer of the Jamieson Range Intrusion, which predates the Machego intrusion.
The main ore minerals are massive to disseminated pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pentlandite, magnetite and ilmentite. The deposit contain abundant xenoliths, and was formed as a magmatic conduit type.
