Large limestone quarry, active since 1952.
Owned by Texada Quarrying Ltd. Now called Lafarge Limestone Quarry,Lafarge are probably the new owners

On average, about four million tonnes of limestone are produced per year.

Note: The pit has the same location as the older Texada Iron Mine which worked on an underground skarn deposit.
