A limestone quarry in Precambrian Franklin Marble. Located near Pine Island. Started 1906 by the Empire Steel and Iron Co. (1906-1924), then owned by the Warren Foundry and Pipe Co., operator of the Mount Hope Iron Mine, NJ (1924-1927), then owned by the Atlas Cement Co. (1927- ). The quarry is 600 feet (180 meters) diameter with 50 foot (15 meter) walls.
