Iron Ore mine. Satellite mine to BHP Billiton's Mount Whaleback operations. Orebody 24 East is located approximately 11kms North-East of Newman.
The deposit strikes 9 kilometres, within the Dales Gorge Member of the Brockman Iron Formation. The orebody is associated with a large west plunging drag fold. Near surface is martite-goethite ore to the east, lower phosphorous martite-hematite with lesser goethite, and some microplaty hematite in the synclinal heel and to the west.
