Located on the eastern outskirts of Marble Bar, as the most southern mine in this section of the goldfield. GML 615. 24 acres.

The reef shows as a distinct outcrop on the surface, but at the south end is a fault that throws the reef out slightly. The reef is traceable on the north-east, east and south-east sides of the hill, averaging 3 feet wide, flat lying, and contained several shafts from the late 1890's. Coarse gold was found near the Footwall and Hanging Wall only. Overlying the reef is a feldspar dyke. On the eastern boundary of the lease is another reef, which dips underneath the above reef. The quartz is dark coloured, and apart from gold contains minor Fe, malachite, and sulphides. In the upper levels sometimes the quartz was honeycombed and crystallised, containing coarse gold.

The original prospectors were Tedell, Matthews, and Walsh in 1891, but by the following year the Coongan Gold Mining and Crushing Company was in control. A 10 head battery was erected.

In 1894, it is noted N. Galbraith holds the mine, pending a London syndicate taking over called the Consolidated Gold Mines of WA. Stephen Tredinnick is mine manager.

In 1897, the Underground Foreman, A.E. Higgins was killed when equipment fell down the water shaft.

In 1903, the British Exploration and Development Company of Australasia Ltd took over the lease, and let it on tribute. The company was in liquidation by 1910.
