GML 95. 12 acres. A 10 head battery was erected in 1902. Three shafts. The most easterly shaft was down to 87 feet on a quartz reef 3 feet thick. The Hanging Wall is decomposed kaolin. To the south-west is another shaft 80 feet deep on the same reef 4 feet thick. The water or main shaft was 160 feet deep.
Often referred to as the Parnell Group of four leases, which in total produced 2369 tonnes of ore for 2190 ounces.
The mine was developed from 1899 by Owen Connolly and Dunne. A trial crushing was reported in 1900, and then several crushings for the next three years.
In 1907 Connolly and Dunne sold the lease to the Bell Exploration Group but they abandoned it shortly after as too low a grade. Philip Cahill was investigating the shaft in 1910, when the old ladder broke, and was injured when he fell 50 feet.
In 1935, Karragullen orchardist and part time gold miner, George Simpson arrived. With a government subsidy he erected a 5 head battery, and took over the Parnell and nearby Rattler leases. 40 tonnes was reported raised from the Parnell, the reef cut by costeans and a shaft sunk to 30 feet.
The mines are 200 metres north-west of the intersection of the Skull Springs Road and the track to Eastern Creek. The site contains several shafts, a substantial historic trench, and battery sands remnants.
