Ref.: Rocks & Min.: 13: 268. An onyx-marble quarry started June, 1937. Owned by Frank E. Baney, part. Workings featured a 40 foot long by 70 foot wide and 15 foot deep quarry. NOTE: The town of Smelser no longer exists and is memorialized only by a cemetary.
