Two small witherite deposits were worked here.
The West Busty Deposit (Upper and Lower) was discovered in 1934 and was a 2-3½ft wide wein of high quality witherite which was worked out.
About ½ mile SW of this deposit, 4" of witherite was noticed on a fault plane, but in the E district of the colliery, a wider deposit - up to 3 3/4ft of excellent quality witherite - was found.
