A former lode Au mine located 1.6 km (5,400 feet) WSW of Schaffer Mountain (coordinates of record).
Mineralization is a vein deposit (Deposit Model: 151: Epithermal vein, Sado), hosted in andesite.
Local structures include a fault at the 200 foot level in the mine which displaces the vein to the S with a strike of N15W and a dip to the E.
Related tectonic structures include the Modoc Plateau.
