Latitude & Longitude (WGS84): 19° 28' 29'' South , 134° 8' 11'' East
Latitude & Longitude (decimal): -19.4747872323, 134.136505145

The mine consists of a historic shaft with minor production of gold in a quartz-hematite ironstone lode. It is located on the southern limb of a broad regional anticline, in close proximity to the Rocky Range-Quartz Hill regional fault.

In one source it states the lode is in slump breccia, with a grey hematitic shale horizon, with the lode lying just below this. Parts of the lode is wholly hematite, and parts quartz-hematite. It shows on the surface as a north-south discontinuous line of quartz veins filling fractures. Rounded contorted country rock fragments is found in the lode. Another source states it is a quartz-hematite lode in red shale-siltstone country rock.

A north-west trending fault passes through the lode. The mine historically has produced 40 tonnes of ore for 9 ounces of gold averaging 4.8 dwt. Mid 1970's exploration in and around the shaft found good anomalous copper grades, and lesser lead, bismuth, molybdenum, and minor gold.

Only two historical notes were found, being Francis Williams Griggs, John James McGlynn, and Robert Schlink taking over the lease in 1945 (GML 144E); then Eaho Griggs (GML 231E) in 1948.

Trying to locate the mine was total grief. Internet maps place it in the wrong location, at least according to the more detailed 1974 exploration company map found. Since this time, tracks have changed, and a large dam constructed in the vicinity. It is located in the headwaters of Bishop Creek, but the mine's footprint is so small it could not be found on satellite images. The Mindat map is very approximate.
