Wadi Arabah (Wadi Araba), Jordan

Area of ancient copper mining between Wadi Feinan and Gharandar. Primary ore minerals are cuprite and tenorite, disseminated in rhyolite. Prospecting expedition by the Bundesanstalt fuer Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (Hannover, Germany) in March 1987 found insufficient ore to warrant further work.

An archaeolgocial research project is carried out since 1996.
