Lower Williams Lake tailings basin, Elliot Lake, Algoma District, Ontario, Canada

ref.: AmMin 87:593-602.(2002). Located 16 km north of town of Elliot Lake. Mill tailings at site (uranium ore) from 1950's and 1960's. Site was reclaimed 1976-1977 with glacial sand/gravel and till. Secondary pyrite and carbonate minerals subsequently formed.
