Li-Ta-Sn-Be-Nb-rich pegmatite dykes, hosted in Oligocene granites and Late Palaeozoic-Mesozoic phyllites and slates. Individual dykes are up to 1,000 m long and up to 20 m thick.
The field straddles the borders between Ishkashim, Wakhan and Zebak districts, but is centered in southeastern Ishkashim District. The grid reference is centered on the field.
