Soufrière Saint Vincent is the youngest Volcano on Saint Vincent Island. It is a Stratovolcano located at the northern end of the island and rises 1,178 m from sea level. It has exprianced violent eruptions in 1718, 1812, and 1902. In 1971 a lava dome was formed in the crater which was replaced by another dome after the 1979 eruption.
