Manganese mines, active from the 1680s to 1946.
The mining area comprises 76 larger holes belonging to 49 named mines, among the more prominent can Stora Vivet, Lilla Vivet, Storgruvan, Ulrikagruvan and Vretgruvan be mentioned.
According to Tegengren (1924) it seems that the vanadinite and edingtonite were only found in Vretgruvan.
