Located at Malscheid, 2.5 km SE of Herdorf and about 7.5 km SE of Betzdorf.
Known among collectors also as "Blaue Halde" (blue dump).
The old literature mentions Pb- and Cu-mines west of the Mahlscheiderkopf, in greywacke.
