Open cast mine with several shafts, 2 buddles and some building ruins. In its latter years this became known as Hexworthy mine and took in the adjacent smaller Hensroost mine and Skir Gut tin streaming works along the course of the O Brook with the ore processing being carried out at initially at Hensroost (ore for processing was carried there by an ariel ropeway) then latterly back at Hooten. Finally the site was used for artillery practice in 1944 by the US Army prior to the D-Day landings.
