A former underground Cu prospect located in West-central sec. 24, T.15S., R.22E (Dragoon 7.5 minute topo map), 1 mile NNE of the town of Johnson, on private land. The Pittsburg claim, and the Treasure claim which adjoins it on the northwest, were patented in 1917. Owned by Mrs. Thomas Adams, Dragoon, AZ. Also owned by the Cochise Development Co.

Mineralization is a replacement deposit that consists of traces of copper carbonates disseminated in bleached Pennsylvanian Horquilla Limestone and associated hornfels (including shale and limestone). An associated rock unit is the Texas Canyon Stock. Country rock is the Horquilla Limestone, which shows only traces of mineralization. The limestone has abundant thin shale beds.

Local structures include Tertiary blaock faulting trending NW. regional trends are Late Cretaceous or Early Tertiary N- and NW-trending folds and thrust faulting overriding to the NE.

Workings include a deep shaft. The Pittsburg shaft is 1850 feet deep and is located ESE of the Peabody shaft and has one crosscut on the 500 foot level. No record of any production but the dump exhibits traces of copper minerals.
