A former small surface and underground Cu-Ag mine located in the SW ¼ sec. 25 (& SE¼ sec. 26 ?), T.15S., R.22E. (Dragoon 7.5 minute topo map), approximately 1 mile SE of Johnson, on private land. Patented in 1882 under the pwnership of the Republic Mine. Operated in part, or at times, by the Black Prince Copper Co., Arizona Consolidated Mining Co., Arizona United Mining Co., Arizona United Development Co., and the Coronado Copper & Zinc Co.
Mineralization consists of relatively small copper carbonate mantos in Cambrian Abrigo Limestone. Other host rock units include the Martin Formation.
Local structures include a massive fracture system, Tertiary block faulting tilting NE. Most manto deposits in the Abrigo Limestone are pyrometasomatic.
Workings include a shaft and open cut(s). A few hundred tons of ore were produced prior to 1900.
