Fort Portal, Kabarole District, Uganda

Ref.: Barker, D.S. and Nixon, P.H. (1989) High-Ca, low-alkali carbonatite volcanism at Fort Portal, Uganda. Contributions to Minralogy and Petrology.: 103: 166-177.

A quaternary volcanic field containing approximately 50 vents that erupted carbonatite. Monogenetic tuff cones mark the vents in two ENE-trending belts.
