A former medium output underground Cu-Ag-Au-V mine located in the E½NE¼NE¼ sec. 21, T.23S., R.24E, approximately 1 mile NW of Warren, on private land. Owned by the Phelps Dodge Corp.
Mineralization is scattered, relatively small, irregular replacement bodies of copper ores in Cambrian Abrigo and Devonian Martin limestones close to a major fault zone. Ore control was the nearby dikes and sills; faulting and assciated brecciation. Ore concentration was bornite replacing pyrite. The lower Abrigo and Bolsa have been completely mineralized with silica and pyrite, forcing the copper solution to the formation above. Alteration was gossan with Mn and Fe oxides induced by hydrothermal metamorphism. An associated rock unit is the Sacramento Hill Stock.
Local structures include pre-mineralization faulting and tilting. Main fault directions are N10W to N40E and S30W to N50W.
Workings include a shaft(s). A moderate sized producer of the Phelps Dodge total.
