A former small underground Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag mine located in the SE¼NE¼NE¼ sec. 17, T.23S., R.24E. (Bisbee 7.5 minute topo map), in Uncle Sam Gulch 5/8 mile SW of Bisbee, on private land. Owned by the Phelps Dodge Corp.

Mineralization is mostly oxidized and enriched copper, lead, and minor zinc ores in irregular replacement bodies in Devonian Martin and Mississippian Escabrosa Limestones, associated with a large porphyry sill and faulting. Ore concentration was bornite replacing pyrite. Alteration is gossan with Mn and Fe oxides induced by hydrothermal metamorphism. An associated rock unit is the Sacramento Hill Stock.

Local structures include pre-mineralization faulting and tilting, which were common. The main fault directions are N10W to N40E and S30W to N50W.

Workings include a tunnel and a shaft. Substantial production of copper and lead ore occurred, mainly in the early 1900's. Production was included under the Copper Queen Branch of Phelps Dodge Corp. in USBM-ABGMT files.
