A former surface Mn mine located in West-central sec. 36, T10N, R14W, on state land. Discovered 1953. Owned by the State Of Arizona(1973). Operated by Mr. D.C. Roberts, Sub-Lessee (1973).
Mineralization is mainly pyrolusite, mixed with sandstone and calcite, in relatively short, lensing, overlapping bands, separated by barren sandstone of Tertiary age.
Workings include tunnels, cuts and an open pit. A small tonnage of ore at about 10% Mn was produced in the 1950's.
