A former surface Mn mine located in the SW¼ sec. 16, T11N, R12W, on land of unknown status. Owned and operated at times, or in part, by Rogers (1953) and Smith (1954), both of Arizona.
Mineralization is manganese ores, probbly mixed pyrolusite and psilomelane, in a flat-lying lens, or large pod, in Tertiary sedimentary bed above a basalt flow.
Workings include an open pit. Production was over 900 long tons of 22% Mn in 1953-1954.
