Latitude: 33°22'7"N
Longitude: 113°55'23"W
A former underground Au mine located in West-central sec. 25, T1N, R17W, on the eastern extremity of the Geyser lode, near Ocotillo, northern S.H. Mountains.
Mineralization is spotty, finely divided, free gold in fractures and iron-stained breccia with gouge, calcite, and iron and manganese oxides, in andesitic volcanics. Much of the lode matter is a breccia of small andesite fragments cemented by fine-grained secondary quartz. Calcite veins of later age, some of them 6 inches (15 cm) wide, cut this breccia. Under the microscope a thin section of the breccia shows a few adularia crystals in the secondary quartz.
Workings include a 35 foot deep inclined shaft.
